A SIX Month Grooming Guide for the Groom

The bride always steals the show at a wedding right? Well, we wouldn’t say it’s your turn to steal the show, but yeah we promise you will be noticed.

6 months is a long time, it’s also not such a long time. Which is exactly why you need to utilise this time to get some things on track. We obviously can’t stress this enough, which is why we keep repeating it “you only get married once ” well at least we hope so. A lot can happen in 6 months, but it also depends on if you make it happen within that time. So let’s dive deep into what can be accomplished in this time frame. Now do remember whatever we list down is something that truly can be accomplished, it’s not impossible, bigger miracles have happened in less than the time were advising you, so honestly there’s no excuse.

 Explore a skincare routine

Let’s face it, most men just don’t take care of their skin, they’re out in the sun, sometimes they don’t even wash their face, and sometimes they don’t even care about their acne. Yes, there are the exceptions but the majority of the men just don’t. Please don’t think we are endorsing fairness creams here that’s not the point. We simply mean taking care of your skin. After all, you do want to look good for your wedding, right? Well in that case it’d be a good idea to look into some skin care products. These products can help you with your acne, they can keep dirt away that will settle down into your pores and they can even help with oily or dry skin. 6 months is enough time to get you in peak skin condition.  Do it bro.

Get your hair game plan in place

If you’ve always kept the same hairstyle since school, maybe now is a good time to shake things up. After all, you don’t want to just risk going to the stylist on the day of your wedding and leave your hair’s fate in their hands only to come out of the salon unhappy. You want to come out with a hairstyle that you want to flaunt. Well 6 months is a good time to start experimenting. Who knows you might just find a new hairstyle you’ll want to keep forever. Or at least until your second marriage if it ever comes to that, we hope not.

Get the smile of your dreams

You’ll be smiling in a lot of photos, and even if you’re the type to not show your teeth, when weddings festivities are going on, you might not always get a warning before the flash goes off and the moment is forever captured. You want those pearls to shine right? Well, take this time and visit a dentist, get your cleaning done, some scaling, some whitening. After your through you’ll want to show your teeth off just like those people in the close up toothpaste ads.

Consider hitting the weights

If you’ve always been skinny, or if you’ve always been overweight, 6 months can do wonders if you start picking up weights or adding an exercise regime in your routine. In 6 months you can lose a lot of pounds or gain. Work with a personal trainer and you’ll be surprised with the results. Of course it goes without saying that you will need to eat right too, consult your trainer and ask for meal plans that will help you achieve your goals. Surprise everyone at your wedding, surprise your bride to be, you’ll be amazed the reaction you’ll get.

Do Something About Those Hands And Feet

Proper hygiene is always important, regardless of whether you’re getting married or not. Now if you are not the type to get manicures or pedicures done at least try integrating them into your life. If you bite your nails, 6 months is a long time to grow them back. The idea might not click well with everyone but hey its 2020 get on with the times. It’s cool now. I mean after all that, the ring will go on your finger. You want your fingernail to be dirty? Or looking like a rabid dog that has been chewing on your nails for years? Yeah didn’t think so. You don’t need to go crazy and over do it just get it done once a month. Who knows you might just enjoy it. Remember women like men who take care of themselves.

5 Fitness Tips For Every Bride!

by admin

Whether bride, groom or other, you want to be your best self on the big day! It’s no surprise that brides often feel a crazy amount of pressure to look good on their wedding day. Not only is there the worry of fitting into your perfect wedding dress, the pictures, videos, being the centre of attention for the day.

All you need is a simple, safe plan that you can actually stick to.

Jump StartThe earlier you decide on your workout plan and put it into effect, the better. Get in the habit of regular workouts. Three times a week for 45 minutes is more than enough to make significant changes. Monitor your progress and focus on all the good you’re doing for your body.

Adjust Your Eating HabitsThe sooner you begin to incorporate healthy habits; the sooner you’ll see results. Crash dieting and fasting can never allow you to look attractive. As tempting as they sound with their promises of big results in little time, they will leave you worse than they found you. There’s no better way to start your day than making time for breakfast. Schedule some healthy snacks, fruit, vegetables and nuts between breakfast and lunch, and again between lunch and dinner. Not only will you get a ton of fibre, vitamins and minerals, but you’ll also be less hungry between meals.

Get your Beauty SleepLack of sleep will only lead to tiredness and will make you hungrier during the day. Make sure you get at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep. Some beauty sleep with a proper diet and workout will tone your body perfectly without bulking it up.

Water Is the KeyFor a Healthy Body, Water Is a Must! When we take in the right amount of water for our body our muscles become more relaxed, which increases energy so water plays a vital role in keeping our body fit. Not even makeup can cover up dry skin, but water keeps the skin well hydrated and glistening, thereby, enhancing the complexion. So you’re not just aiming for staying fit but also for beautiful looking skin.

Be PositiveA lot of times women put so much pressure on themselves. Not every bride must be a size zero or two on her wedding day, you need to realistically evaluate what your ideal weight and body shape should be and if you’re capable of getting there in a healthy way. Aim for balance, be realistic and be kind to yourself. Focus on your specific goals with regards to your wedding day or dress, not size zero or two.

All you guys getting married to your dream girl or dream bahu chosen by your parents, get ready, this one for you. Now you know your bride is always going to look better than you, and she’s going to be doing a lot to look her best for her wedding day and for you to. Here are some tips that you can follow to look your best!

Make an impression with your hairstyle.

This one goes without saying, but the right haircut here makes all the difference. Hair styles come and go but wedding pictures last forever. Now don’t go too crazy, we don’t mean go and pick a hairstyle just because it’s trendy, go for one that looks good for your face. Now this doesn’t mean you do this one day before the big day. Visit a professional barber, see what he says what he suggests, find the right look. And on the day of your wedding or a day before, schedule an appointment and have them style your hair for you!

Keep your beard clean.

For all you guys that rock a beard, remember to keep it moisturised, comb it everyday and keep it hydrated. You don’t want your beard looking dry and unhealthy. Remember to get your beard made a day before the wedding, keep that neck clean, and for those who keep more of a stubble ask your barber to make it cleaner, make sure your beard length is even.

Keep your skin healthy.

It’s not just your hair that you should take care of, it’s also your skin after all when it’s time for those portraits you want to make sure you don’t have a pimple to ruin what would otherwise be a picture that’s perfect. Get into the habit of moisturising your face. Heck, treat yourself, go in for facial, get rid of those blackheads. Some men may not be comfortable with the idea but give it a shot. Trust us, in fact you might even enjoy it.

Wide smiles

That’s right, you want to remember this day with fond memories, and for that you need to smile in your pictures, after all you’ll be on a stage for hours taking pictures with your guests. Schedule an appointment with your dentist, ask him to brighten those pearls for you. That way you’ll be confident smiling with your teeth.  Miswaak or Colgate just isn’t enough.

Don’t forget your hands!

If you’re comfortable going in for a manicure, DO IT, but for all those who are not, it’s simple just keep your nails clean. Cut your nails make sure you look presentable. You don’t want your bride to feel your claws digging into her when you’re holding hands. Now do you want food particles to get stuck underneath. We repeat, just make sure they’re clean.

Too Hairy?

Now there’s nothing wrong with being hairy, it’s very masculine and we know you’re super proud to show how much testosterone is pumping inside of you you BUT! Maybe not everyone likes that. Nothing wrong with hairy arms or hair legs, or a hairy chest, but not everyone likes a hairy back. Maybe trim it, or wax it if possible, not everyone would, but if you love her you just might take up this option. BTW, we did a survey, apparently women are cool with hair, just not on the back. Oh well.

The foundation to a flawless wedding day beauty look? Perfect skin.

For every bride, her wedding day is of course a huge deal. After all, you know that you are going to be the centre of attention. For most brides-to-be, one of the biggest concerns is getting the perfect makeup and getting the perfect look on your most important day, but trust me, if your skin isn’t clean and healthy no amount of expensive foundation can make blotchy, tired skin look good.

Here are a few tips that will help you get that glowing skin before wedding.

Cleanse your Skin

The first and the most important thing to do is to go to bed with a clean face. It starts with the basics and the foundation to great skin is cleansed skin. In the mornings, use a good cleanser that is suited for your skin type followed by a good moisturiser, also, exfoliate your skin at least thrice a week.

Every bride wants to look and feel best on her big day, that doesn’t mean you should go crazy with the pre-wedding diet and weight loss, instead, just focus on developing healthy eating habits without going insane. Just Avoid processed food, limit or eliminate foods with added sugar and give up refined and starchy carbohydrates like white bread or white rice.

When you sweat, you allow your body to flush out all the impurities. If you don’t have an exercise plan in place, don’t worry. Just try to get some physical activity every day. This might include a brisk walk, a short jog, or a home strength training workout.

Detox Juices

Love them, hate them, or fear them but detox juices can help you hit the reset button.

Most vegetables and fruits contain fibre and other essential nutrients that help flush out the toxins that affect your overall skin and hair health.

Drink water

By now you’ve probably heard about the importance of drinking water and staying hydrated for your overall health and wellness. No matter what your skin type is—oily, dry, normal or a combo— it craves water. Hydration is the key! Aside from keeping you healthy and hydrated, extra perks of hydration include energy boosts and skin health as well.

Basin and Haldi

Whether it was to cure suntan, acne, dry skin or oily skin, Basin and Haldi used to be the face mask our dadis, nanis and moms used.
